Abandoned Throne Room

With this project, I really wanted to push my skills in Zbrush and create an organic environment. I took a lot of inspiration from local castle ruins in the East Midlands (England) and many High Fantasy titles across various media.

One of the big inspirations that I attempted to pay homage to was Game of Thrones with the Weirwood-inspired tree wrapping around the throne. I got the idea of it from the 'Gardener Kings' of the Reach in the Histories and Lore of ASOIAF, while putting my own little spin on it.

Another strong inspiration for the scene were the many ruins and caves that many RPG's have the player travel through, and I tried to make a little area that emulated the end of the 'dungeon-dive'.

I couldn't have made any of this without the awesome feedback and critique of those around me and I'm always open to more! Always trying to improve my work and workflow.

The skeleton model was kindly provided by the awesome Storm Flemming!
